Nathan is a linguist and English teacher currently living in Vancouver, Washington. He has spent 11 years in Asian countries, including China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Myanmar.

On workdays, he teaches free ESL and citizenship classes for community members and employees at Goodwill Industries, a humanitarian organization providing vocational opportunities to people with disabilities as well as others with barriers to employment.

In his free time, he plays violin, sings, hangs out with family and friends, and does historical research, especially on the languages and cultures of the Myanmar Himalaya.
